Test Format

Speaking And Writing
Your oral and written communication skills in English will be evaluated through this test which will take 50-60 minutes. This section contains seven questions and is the longest part of the test.
Reading
This section contains five different questions and lasts approximately 30 minutes. As PTE Academic is an integrated skills test, one item type (‘Reading and Writing: Fill in the Blanks’) also assesses writing skills.
Listening
There are eight different types of questions and the duration of this part is 30–43 minutes.

Every question on the PTE Academic test is machine-scored, so every score is accurate, consistent, and fair. Each test taker receives a scorecard with a score between 10 and 90 that measures English proficiency. Questions may be graded based on correctness, or they may be graded based on formal aspects and quality.
